Handmade Gifts ....................

Hi everyone,  I thought I would share a couple of the handmade Xmas gifts I made this year.  I didn't get chance to make as many things as I had planned but I will be starting earlier next year!

Anyway these are little plaques to peg notes onto and are magnetic so you can attach them to your fridge.  I ordered some 5 x 5 inch mdf coasters from ebay and some small pegs also from ebay.   They are smaller than a normal size peg.  I covered the pegs in washi tape and covered the coasters in paper before attaching the letters which I cut out on my ecraft.  I put a magnetic strip on the back which I also ordered off of ebay. The papers are from Crafter's Companion sweet treats CD.  I really enjoyed making these and I would like to make some more to sell at craft fairs if I get the time this year!

Thanks for stopping by.

My Christmas Scrapbook ..............

Hi everyone,  I love these days between Christmas and New Year before going back to work.  It is so nice to have sometime to catch up with friends but also have time to relax!  I have been busy working on my Christmas Scrapbook, still loads of scrapping to do but I have printed lots of photos out and titles so hopefully the pages will come together quickly now.  I decided to start scrapping out of order as in the last 2 years I get up to about day 18 and never manage to finish!  So I have 3 pages to share today of the 3th, 4th and 28th of December.  I scrapped the 28th last night as we had a lovely afternoon out to see a Panto at Hunstanton.   The cast were lovely and came out after the show for photos so I was very happy to get a picture of Grace with them.  Grace was so funny she loved the show so much she cried when it ended as she didn't want it to finish!

My Fave 5 Christmas Cards ................

Hi everyone, well I hope you all had a very Happy Christmas!  We had a lovely time the only problem that I had was that my oven packed up on Xmas Day!  Can you believe 365 days of the year and the one day when you need your oven more than any other and the oven packed up!  It cooked the turkey ok but after the roast potatoes had been in for an hour doing nothing we realised there was a problem! Luckily my mum and mum in law both live in the same village so my Mum went home with parsnips and yorkshire puddings and my Mum in Law went home with the 2 trays of roasties. There were a lot as we were cooking for 11.  So finally around 2.30pm we got our Christmas lunch it just took 3 ovens to cook it lol!

Anyway onto some cards to share for today which are part of a challenge that the lovely
Debby runs each year to share your favourite five Christmas cards. So here are mine!

Winter Wonderland Challenge ............................

Hi everyone,  well that's me finished work till next year yipee!  What a day I had yesterday as well, everything went wrong, one problem after another and I got another problem to sort out 5 minutes before I planned to finish  and just to top it all when I changed the ink cartridge in my printer something was wrong with the new cartridge and I managed to get black ink all over my hand which won't come off even though I have been scrubbing like mad! It looks really classy with my pink nail polish lol!

Anyway onto today's creation which is my DT work for Winter Wonderland and our theme for this week's challenge is 'numbers'.  Your creation can be Christmas or Non Christmas.  My layout is from my Christmas Journal and I think I am even further behind this year than last year!  Maybe next year I will go digital in the hope that I might keep up with it every day!

There is a lovely prize for the winner of this challenge of a £10 voucher for My Crafty Heart

Crafty Little Fairies Challenge ..................

Hi everyone, my blog has been a bit quiet this week as Grace is poorly and has a throat infection. She was upset as it was her school play tonight and tomorrow afternoon but she is not well enough to go.  The doctor has given her antibiotics and said she should take the rest of the week off school as she needs to have plenty of rest.   Why do you always have to get ill when you have so much on!

Anyway onto my creation for today for Crafty Little Fairies challenge and our theme for you this week is 'Let it snow'.  I thought I would make a gift tag for a change and decided to use this sweet little James Bear image from LOTV.

There is a fab prize for the winner so I hope you will come along and join in with the challenge.

Christmas Cupcakes ..................

Hi everyone, well it's the first of December already, this year has just flown by!   I'm excited to be starting my Christmas Journal today.  For the past 2 years I have taken a scrapbooking class by Shimelle called 'Journal Your Christmas'. Both years I have not finished my album, I get to about day 20 and never get it finished but I want this year to be different and I really want to finish my album! I've taken my photos already for today's page, so I hope to have that to share with you tomorrow.

I have not got an advent calendar calendar of my own to open but how about a crafty advent calendar? Crafty Ribbons are having a Christmas Advent Event and there is the chance to win a prize and see some lovely inspiration everyday.  You can see the first advent event
here

Today I have a card to share with you that I have made for my sister and her husband. My sister loves baking so I thought these cupcakes would be perfect for her.

Crafty Little Fairies Challenge ....................

Hi everyone, it's time for another challenge at Crafty Little Fairies and our theme for you this week is 'Classic Christmas' so we want to see reds, greens and gold on your creations.

We have a great sponsor this week which is My Crafty Heart  and they have a £10 voucher for the winner, what a lovely prize!

I have used a Christmas Tree decoupage for my DT card.  I thought this would be good for my parents as my Mum likes decoupage cards.  If you do take part in the challenge this week please don't use decoupage like me, entries are meant to be stamped or digi's and I completely forgot! I'm going to blame it on this virus I've got as I'm walking around feeling like I'm wearing a lead suit!  I think this challenge should be renamed for me 'Away with the Fairies'!

A Christmas Card .............

Hi everyone, I hope you have had a good weekend. I've been really busy as I went and did my last few bits of Christmas shopping in Cambridge yesterday.  Cambridge is only 45 minutes on the train from where I live I really should go there more often as there are some lovely shops!  Today I've been busy catching up on housework yuck!  But this afternoon I did get my sewing machine out and made a few Christmas presents which I will show you tomorrow when there is better light for a photo.

Onto today's card this is a quick and simple one made using a Crafter's Companion embossing folder. I did get my embossing powder out for the sentiment which is also from Crafter's Companion.    It won't be long till I need to get giving these cards out so I better get putting some inserts in and writing them all out.  I still need to make a few more special ones too!  At least I do have a nice pile of cards from making my Winter Wonderland DT cards all year.

I will be also be back tomorrow to announce the winner of my candy draw.

A Christmas Jumper .................

Hi everyone, well it's definitely a jumper day today, Norfolk has been freezing and I've had cold hands all day at work. I'm so glad to be home in the warm!

I couldn't believe how many Christmas jumpers I saw when I did my Christmas shopping a few weeks ago and they always make me think of Bridget Jones when she turns up at the Christmas party and Mark has a jumper on quite similar to the one in my card. So when I saw this stamp at the NEC I just had to buy it!  I had great fun creating this little winter scene, I hope it looks like a washing line in Winter.

I also had a nice surprise yesterday when I found out my bike card from my previous post made the top 3 at Sketch and Stash!

On Your Bike!

Hi everyone, thought I would share a card I made using one of my new stamps that I got from the NEC last week.  This bike stamp is from Dreamees.  I hadn't seen their stamps until the show and they had some lovely designs at a great price as this stamp only cost £3 which I thought was a great bargain!   I had another go with the frantage for this card but I used it a bit more sparingly so at least the bike does not look like it is in a snowstorm! I was quite pleased with how this one turned out.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Crafty Little Fairies do Top of the Pops!

Hi everyone, I have my DT creation for Crafty Little Fairies to share with you today.  Our theme for you this week is 'Top of the Pops' so we want to see your creations that are inspired by a song title or lyrics.  Well I was itching to use some new stamps that I got for my Birthday so my song was 'Singing in the Rain'.   I really love the vintage look but I have to say that I did take inspiration for this creation from my friend Marianne as she does vintage so well!  There is a wonderful sponsor for this week's winner so I hope you will join in the challenge.

I had great fun making this tag which I'm going to give to my Dad as a bookmark for Christmas.  I even got out some old bronze embossing powder that I must have had for at least 8 years luckily it still worked fine, good job they don't have a sell by date on!

My NEC Goodies ..............

Hmm well from these pictures you will see that I got a bit carried away with my purchases at the NEC last week but I did mostly spend Birthday money and money from the sale of crafty stash so I think that makes it ok!

The first picture is of the stamps I brought

This one includes the paper and embellishments and a lovely new craft room sign!

Lots of lovely new dies to play with!

Some lovely ribbons from Crafty ribbons and a cute Percy Owl to sew

And the last one is where I spend most of my money at the Lily of the Valley stand!  And a few chip board blanks to play with too!

This is a picture of me and my friend Marianne:

And finally a picture of the Prima Doll tag I made at a workshop:

A Little Bit Oriental ................

Hi everyone, what a busy few days I have had.  I went to the NEC on Thursday and shopped all day.  I got some lovely craft stash which I will show you tomorrow and then on Friday I went to York Xmas shopping for the weekend and only got back tonight. So that's the Xmas shopping nearly finished but I do have a couple of more things to get and I want to make some handmade gifts.

I have had no time to play with my new stash and I really can't wait! I will have to wait till after work tomorrow so lets hope the day goes by quick!

So anyway onto my card, this was made using the one of Sheena's A little bit oriental stamps and embossing folders.  I think they work really well together.  This is not my normal sort of card but I really enjoyed making this one. This is an 8 x 8 card, for a change as I've not made many of them lately.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

A Snowman in a Blizzard!

Hi everyone, it's Friday so it's time for another challenge at Winter Wonderland and our theme for you this week is to make 'A card for a child'.

We have a lovely sponsor this week Pink Gem who have a great prize  of 3 digi's for the winner.

My snowman is from Pink Gem, I think he looks like he is in a blizzard, I didn't intend for that to happen but I got a bit carried away with my frantage so it looks like this snowman is in a snow storm!  I think I was a bit heavy handed but it was my first go at using frantage so next time I will lightly sprinkle lol!

I also did some sewing on this card as I had a new little toy arrive in the craft room this week that was a mini sewing machine. I do have a normal sewing machine but I want to use that to sew with material and I don't want to have to keep changing the needle all the time as paper will blunt it so this little mini one was only £12.50 from Hobbycraft which I thought was a great bargain!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

I'm getting quite excited as I'm off to the big craft show at the NEC on Thursday with my friend Marianne.  I feel like a child waiting for Xmas!  Does anyone else get that excited about craft shows or is that just me!
