Crafty Little Fairies Challenge ....................

Hi everyone, it's time for another challenge at Crafty Little Fairies and our theme for you this week is 'Classic Christmas' so we want to see reds, greens and gold on your creations.

We have a great sponsor this week which is My Crafty Heart  and they have a £10 voucher for the winner, what a lovely prize!

I have used a Christmas Tree decoupage for my DT card.  I thought this would be good for my parents as my Mum likes decoupage cards.  If you do take part in the challenge this week please don't use decoupage like me, entries are meant to be stamped or digi's and I completely forgot! I'm going to blame it on this virus I've got as I'm walking around feeling like I'm wearing a lead suit!  I think this challenge should be renamed for me 'Away with the Fairies'!

A Christmas Card .............

Hi everyone, I hope you have had a good weekend. I've been really busy as I went and did my last few bits of Christmas shopping in Cambridge yesterday.  Cambridge is only 45 minutes on the train from where I live I really should go there more often as there are some lovely shops!  Today I've been busy catching up on housework yuck!  But this afternoon I did get my sewing machine out and made a few Christmas presents which I will show you tomorrow when there is better light for a photo.

Onto today's card this is a quick and simple one made using a Crafter's Companion embossing folder. I did get my embossing powder out for the sentiment which is also from Crafter's Companion.    It won't be long till I need to get giving these cards out so I better get putting some inserts in and writing them all out.  I still need to make a few more special ones too!  At least I do have a nice pile of cards from making my Winter Wonderland DT cards all year.

I will be also be back tomorrow to announce the winner of my candy draw.

Thanks for stopping by.

A Christmas Jumper .................

Hi everyone, well it's definitely a jumper day today, Norfolk has been freezing and I've had cold hands all day at work. I'm so glad to be home in the warm!

I couldn't believe how many Christmas jumpers I saw when I did my Christmas shopping a few weeks ago and they always make me think of Bridget Jones when she turns up at the Christmas party and Mark has a jumper on quite similar to the one in my card. So when I saw this stamp at the NEC I just had to buy it!  I had great fun creating this little winter scene, I hope it looks like a washing line in Winter.

I also had a nice surprise yesterday when I found out my bike card from my previous post made the top 3 at Sketch and Stash!

On Your Bike!

Hi everyone, thought I would share a card I made using one of my new stamps that I got from the NEC last week.  This bike stamp is from Dreamees.  I hadn't seen their stamps until the show and they had some lovely designs at a great price as this stamp only cost £3 which I thought was a great bargain!   I had another go with the frantage for this card but I used it a bit more sparingly so at least the bike does not look like it is in a snowstorm! I was quite pleased with how this one turned out.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Sketch and Stash - Great Sketch

Crafty Little Fairies do Top of the Pops!

Hi everyone, I have my DT creation for Crafty Little Fairies to share with you today.  Our theme for you this week is 'Top of the Pops' so we want to see your creations that are inspired by a song title or lyrics.  Well I was itching to use some new stamps that I got for my Birthday so my song was 'Singing in the Rain'.   I really love the vintage look but I have to say that I did take inspiration for this creation from my friend Marianne as she does vintage so well!  There is a wonderful sponsor for this week's winner so I hope you will join in the challenge.

I had great fun making this tag which I'm going to give to my Dad as a bookmark for Christmas.  I even got out some old bronze embossing powder that I must have had for at least 8 years luckily it still worked fine, good job they don't have a sell by date on!

My NEC Goodies ..............

Hmm well from these pictures you will see that I got a bit carried away with my purchases at the NEC last week but I did mostly spend Birthday money and money from the sale of crafty stash so I think that makes it ok!

The first picture is of the stamps I brought

This one includes the paper and embellishments and a lovely new craft room sign!

Lots of lovely new dies to play with!

Some lovely ribbons from Crafty ribbons and a cute Percy Owl to sew

And the last one is where I spend most of my money at the Lily of the Valley stand!  And a few chip board blanks to play with too!

This is a picture of me and my friend Marianne:

And finally a picture of the Prima Doll tag I made at a workshop:

A Little Bit Oriental ................

Hi everyone, what a busy few days I have had.  I went to the NEC on Thursday and shopped all day.  I got some lovely craft stash which I will show you tomorrow and then on Friday I went to York Xmas shopping for the weekend and only got back tonight. So that's the Xmas shopping nearly finished but I do have a couple of more things to get and I want to make some handmade gifts.

I have had no time to play with my new stash and I really can't wait! I will have to wait till after work tomorrow so lets hope the day goes by quick!

So anyway onto my card, this was made using the one of Sheena's A little bit oriental stamps and embossing folders.  I think they work really well together.  This is not my normal sort of card but I really enjoyed making this one. This is an 8 x 8 card, for a change as I've not made many of them lately.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Bearly Mine Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by.

A Snowman in a Blizzard!

Hi everyone, it's Friday so it's time for another challenge at Winter Wonderland and our theme for you this week is to make 'A card for a child'.

We have a lovely sponsor this week Pink Gem who have a great prize  of 3 digi's for the winner.

My snowman is from Pink Gem, I think he looks like he is in a blizzard, I didn't intend for that to happen but I got a bit carried away with my frantage so it looks like this snowman is in a snow storm!  I think I was a bit heavy handed but it was my first go at using frantage so next time I will lightly sprinkle lol!

I also did some sewing on this card as I had a new little toy arrive in the craft room this week that was a mini sewing machine. I do have a normal sewing machine but I want to use that to sew with material and I don't want to have to keep changing the needle all the time as paper will blunt it so this little mini one was only £12.50 from Hobbycraft which I thought was a great bargain!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
