A CAS Card!

Hi everyone,  something different for my second post of today a CAS card!  I've seen some lovely cards made this week by lots of my blogging buddies using this great sketch from Less is More so I thought I would have a go.  I'm quite pleased with how it turned out but I did struggle not to put anything else on the card!  I'm sure I took as long making this simple card as I do a card with lots of paper and embellishments.  There I'm glad I challenged myself and had a go at something out of my comfort zone for a change.

Happy Friday.

A Scrapbook Page ...................

Hi everyone,  I hope your week is going well.  I have a scrapbook page to share with you today.  This is the first layout for my 2014 scrapbook.  I want to try really hard and do a layout a week but I'm a few weeks behind already but that's what I would like to do!

This page is all about my hopes to get fit this year! I'm doing well so far I've been exercising 3-4 times a week since January so I hope I can stay commited to it now.  I must say I feel lots better in myself and have more energy than before Christmas when I was not doing any exercise!

I made this page using a great sketch from Shimelle's blog.

Thanks for stopping by.

Crafty Ribbons DT Call ..............

Hi everyone, I'm back with my second post tonight to share my creation that I am entering for the Crafty Ribbons DT call.  I can safely say I am a ribbon addict and I find it very hard to make a card without adding one as they are always the perfect finishing touch!  I also love to use ribbons on my sewing projects and scrapbook pages too.

I made this cushion by first designing my picture in serif and then printing it onto fabric transfer paper.  I then made a border for the picture using some lovely spotty ribbon and finally finished it off with a fabric flower which I made and a spotty button which came from Crafty Ribbons.

Look what I made!

Hi all just a quick little post from me to share my sewing that I did on my applique sewing class on Friday. For any of my blogging buddies that live in Norfolk my class was at the 'Make Place' in Norwich.  I had a lovely lady called Sally who taught me and another lady also on the course.  Of course me and this other lady chattered away as you always have something to talk about when you are into some sort of craft!  I'm really pleased with how it turned out for my first attempt.  I plan to make it into a cushion for my hall way.  Isn't it great to learn something new!  I've another class booked for this Saturday to learn how to make a zipped bag, I can't wait!

A Fariy Card ..............

Hi all, time for a very glittery card tonight.  I made this card with a stamp that I won from entering the Facebook Sugar Bowl challenge a couple of weeks ago.  They have another challenge this week and the theme is glitter, which is a lovely easy one for me as I just love my glitter so that's what I'm entering my card into.

I hope you are all keeping nice and warm it's freezing here in Norfolk and foggy and I'm going out to Bums, Legs and Tums soon, I'm not really looking forward to it in this cold!  Never mind I will feel better for going!

A Couple of Crafty Makes ................

Hi everyone, I'm back again to show you a couple of crafty pieces I made for my home.  This first one is for Grace to hang her artwork on in her bedroom.  I brought some plaques from ebay which I painted cream.  This took a few coats then I cut some letters out using my e-craft, some felt flowers using a marianne die and some cardstock leaves which were also a marianne die.  I finished off the flowers with some pearls from my stash and I covered a peg with washi tape to finish and glued it and the felt flowers on with my hot glue gun to make sure they stay in place! Grace was very happy when I gave her this and it is hanging nicely in her bedroom now with a picture proudly displayed!

My second make is craft room sign which I brought from Ann Marie Designs at the NEC in november. I decorated the back with pretty paper from Crafter's Companion Sweet Treats CD and painted the letters in cream paint.  I finally added some felt flowers to finish it off.   This looks so pretty hanging on my craft room door.

I think I have a painting bug at the moment as I've been very busy the last few days painting some dining chairs which I brought last year for £15.  They were dark brown wood but I'm busy painting them a lovely shade of cream at the moment.  I brought some lovely cushions to go on them yesterday which have a sweetie jars on them, I can't wait to get them finished now.  I will show you some picks when they are finished!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Happy New Year and Winter Wonderland Challenge.................

Hi everyone, well Happy New Year to all my blogging buddies!  Let's hope 2014 is a good one for all of us.
Are you making any New Year resolutions?   Apart from doing more exercise my other new year's resolution is to be ready for Christmas earlier.  Although I make Christmas cards most of the year for my DT work for Winter Wonderland I never put inserts in them and I don't decide who they are for until I'm in mad rush to send my cards out.

So for our challenge at Winter Wonderland this week which is 'Teddy Bears' I decided to make myself a Christmas planner.   I have made little tabs for my planner for my Christmas card list, handmade gifts I want to make, gift ideas, presents wrapped and recipe ideas.  So I'm hoping my planner will help be ready much earlier this year.  I plan to put inserts in all of my Christmas cards, write them out and put them in envelopes with the address written on so that when December arrives all my special cards will be ready!  Well that's the plan, lets see if it will work this year!

I hope you will come along and join in our challenge.  You don't have to make a Christmas themed card for this challenge but you might want to if you want to join in and make an early start and be ready for Christmas early with me this year!  We also have a wonderful sponsor this week which is

I would like to enter my planner into the following challenges:
Crafting for all seasons - Anything Christmas but a card
  Bearly Mine - Anything Goes
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes
Creative Craft Challenge - Anything Goes
Craft Challenge - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Hugs Lynsey

P.s I will be back later with some New Year candy for my followers.
