Hi everyone, the challenge at Winter Wonderland this week is a 'One Layer Card'. Now for me this was a real challenge as I don't do the less is more thing very well on my cards! So for my DT card I have stamped a cute Penny Black image and added distress ink all round the edges of my card. I stamped and embossed the swirls and used an embossing powder called Wow. It is holographic and really sparkly. In the end I was really pleased with my card and I used my distress ink pad which has been sat in my draw gathering dust!

Friday Sketchers .............

I was asked to make an anniversary card for an order but I was seriously lacking my mojo for this card! I could not decide on what papers to use even though I have enough to most probably cover the whole village where I live! Maybe thats the problem, I just have too many to choose from! In the end I choose these papers that I got free with a magazine ages ago and I was really pleased with how this card turned out.

I used a sketch from Friday Sketchers which I love! I really like the flowers being round the bottom of the card and I use this sketch again.

I hope you all have a great weekend, thanks for stopping by.

A card for twins .........

Hi everyone, this is another card for an order that I thought I would share with you and it also gives me the opportunity to wish everyone a lovely bank holiday weekend. I hope you all have lots of nice things planned. I am not sure what I am going to do as me and hubby both feel a bit under the weather! Never mind hopefully we will feel better tomorrow.

This is the box that I made for the card to go in. I also wrap my card in tissue paper before I put in the box which I think just makes it all look a bit more special.

And this is the inside of my card. My sister loves baking cakes so I thought this image would finish the card off nicely and it is the nearest she will get to a cake off me as I don't do cakes, the last batch I attempted came out like rock cakes!

Charisma Card Challenge 13 Sketch ..........

This week Chrisma Cardz Challenge have a great sketch by my blogging buddy Lyndsey, its also Lyndsey's birthday today, so happy birthday Lyndsey!

This card is an engagement card for my husband's cousin. I thought the little sentiment was perfect for this occasion. I made the flowers out of vellum after getting some inspiration from another of my blogging buddies Debbie, thanks Debbie! The largest flower has been punched then I used a white sukara gel pen for the dots. The other flowers have been made using my Clare Curd flower stamps and I embossed them with white embossing powder onto the vellum. I coloured the back of the vellum flowers with Promarkers to make them pink to match my card.

The stamped flower on my card has stamped twice and mounted on foam pads for a bit of dimension. I have coloured the flower with pink glitter pain and added glitter to the centre of the flower. For a change I am quite happy with card!

I hope you all have a great weekend, thanks for stopping by.

Hi everyone, well the Christmas tree is up and I have wrapped a few pressies but I'm still busy making cards as I'm sure you are too. This card is for my parents from my little girl Grace. The first challenge this card is for the Basic Grey Challenge and their theme is 'Oh so charming' where you have to add a charm to your project. This is the first time I've entered a Basic Grey challenge, I'm not sure why its taken me so long as I love their papers! The second challenge this card is for is the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge and their theme this week is 'Embossing Dry or Heat'.

Thanks for popping in, please leave me a comment if you have time.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge .........

This week's challenge over at Penny Black Saturday Challenge is a sketch. I have included a close up of my image as I used some glitter flocking powder from Papermania which my friend brought me for my birthday. Can you see how fluffy it looks on the Christmas Stocking! You just want to touch it! It was really easy to apply you first put wet glue where you want the flocking powder to be. I call it a powder but its actually more like cotton wool, then you just press it down into the glue its that easy! I got six christmas colours in my set, which were white, black, green, red, purple and blue. I think you may see this alot in the future on my cards as I love it!

Please leave me a comment if you have time.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge ........

This week's challenge over at Penny Black Saturday Challenge is stars and strips. I thought this theme would work well for a man so this is what I have come up with. I made the star embellishments myself so I hope they look ok.

I realise looking at my last card that I have had a bit of green and blue theme going on this weekend, I'm not sure why, but I do like these colours together!

Penny Black & Cute Card Thursday Double Challenge Card

This card is for the Penny Black Challenge Sketch 2 which I loved! I will definitively be using this sketch again! It is also for this weeks challenge at Cute Card Thursday which is 'The two of us'. As I needed to make a card for my husband's sister and her husband for their anniversay next week this was a great theme!
Me and my sister took my little girl Grace swimming for the first time today, I had a little float for her to sit in which was really good. It was so funny to see her little face but she seemed to really like it! My sister took a picture of Grace in her swimming suit so I hope that I will be able to use that for a scrapbook page.

Triple Challenge Card

This card is for 3 challenges. The first is for the PENNY BLACK SATURDAY CHALLENGE which this week is to include snow, which is great as it has got me started on my Christmas cards in July which is a first for me! Normally I don't start till December and then just end up making a few for close family and friends but this year as I am on maternity leave I plan to have them all done by the end of November. Well thats the plan whether it happens or not remains to be seen!

The next challenge this card is for is for CUTE CARD THURSDAY and you have to design a card with animals only, no people.

The third challenge which this card has been designed for is for Michelle's Sketch at THE CARD GROTTO
